Our second matchday of the season saw just one game take place – UBAFC’s 6s vs Geog Soc’s 1s. Geog Soc had proved victorious the last time the sides met earlier on in 2020 meaning the UBAFC boys were out for revenge. Here’s how they went about getting it…
Result: Bristol 6s 4 – 1 Geog Soc 1s
A mixed UBAFC side took on GeogSoc at Dingle on a rainy Saturday afternoon having lost to the same team earlier in the year.
The game started with UBAFC dominating possession and creating several chances before the pressure finally told when Wenzi Ngcobo won a penalty from a corner and subsequently converted. Minutes later, George Gers used the weather conditions to full effect, scoring directly from a corner. 2-0 UBAFC at HT with UBAFC seemingly in cruise control.
The 2nd half started in dramatic fashion with Cian McCormack giving away a penalty after a mix up in communication led to him picking the ball up after believing he’d been fouled. The penalty was converted making the score 2-1 but UBAFC managed the game well following this – a strong header from Shane Hoeberichts and then a great strike from Duro Adebayo topping off a fine performance and a good win for Bristol.
A fantastic start for the boys who are looking to carry this form into their next fixture on the 3G next Saturday.
Man of the Match: Shane Hoeberichts
