Result: 2-0 win vs Bath 2s.
‘Our first cup match against Bath 2s who we faced for the second time this season was contested on a chilly evening under the lights at Coombe Dingle. Having beaten them 6-1 earlier in the season, we looked to continue our unbeaten run and progress through to the next round of the cup. The match began slowly, with long balls being the main method of attack as Bath implemented a very high press, and we came close after Femiola cut the ball back to Gale who tries to slide the ball into the path of Hinks for a tap in but we could not convert. Our defence stood strong with little threat to our goal, and the first half was fairly even as the opposition were very organised and hard to break down. Towards the end of the first half, however, Bath began to tire as we seemed a lot more dangerous on the counter attack, yet the score remained 0-0 as the half came to a close. The second half began much the same, with a lack of quality from the home side, however our relentless attacks eventually led to a mistake from their defence that fell to the feet of Femiola who takes it past their defender and smashes the ball past the keeper into the roof of the net from the edge of the box. 1-0 up and it seemed the goals were going to come. Soon after we earned ourselves a corner and Hinks was the man to whip it in. The ball is delivered close to the keeper who after an unfortunate mistake spills it into his own net. After doubling our lead and the heads of Bath beginning to drop, we saw the match out comfortably to progress through to the next round, where we face Cambridge away in two weeks time. Man of the match was William Nibbs who put in another superb performance at left back, both defensively and offensively, keeping a clean sheet and causing problems when he ventured forwards’.

Result: 4-1 Win vs Gloucester 1s Home (Cup).
‘The 2s hosted Gloucestershire 1s at fortress Almondsbury in the Cup in our first home game on 3G. We started well, dominating the ball and creating a hatful of chances which we failed to convert with Gloucester’s only real chances coming from cleverly crafted set piece routines. This was until their number 10 played one of the best passes you’ll ever see from his own half to send their winger through to score on the stroke of half time-their only shot of the half. Undeterred by the current result we played the exact same way in the second half dominating the ball and creating more chances with Rushab finally firing in a shot from close range to draw us level. After missing an impossibly stupid amount of chances the score somehow remained 1-1 at full time. After begging the Gloucestershire FA not to boot us off the pitch for overrunning onto someone else’s booking, extra time began with us even more dominant than during the 90, the Gloucestershire players visibly knackered after chasing shadows for 90 mins. Finally we made our dominance pay with solly beating two and finishing nicely before Roberto and Dan tucked to give us the score line we deserved and 4 wins from our last 4. Man of the Match: Roberto’.
